How did you first hear about FITB?
I was given a blankie for our third child, by my mom. It’s been such as hit with our family and friends that we now have one for our youngest too.
Your relationship to the lucky new receivers?
The new mother is a good friend of mine from graduate school.
What you find unique about FITB?
They are individualized and as personal as whoever gives them wants to make them. They can be sentimental and touching or simple with the baby’s info – either way they are beautiful and so unique.
Most thoughtful gift you’ve ever received?
Gosh, that’s hard. My husband is a great gift-giver. He makes great mix CD’s perfect for any occasion, and gave me stunning pearl earrings to wear with my gown on our wedding day.
Other go-to-gift ideas: I love to give live plants for many occasions: Lilacs or Daisies for thanking teachers for their hard work, orchids or a favorite flowering plant for a get well. They are good because they last longer than cut flowers and can be planted by the recipient.
Also, I sometimes frame a couple’s wedding invitation as a wedding gift. Some invitations are just so pretty that I think they’d make a great memory for the couple.
